We are around the bend!
But which one gored the gourd?
It exercises the little grey cells, non?
Well done, Shu!

the colors are great ! and it has just enough simplicity in the few objects to give it a sense of mystery,,,,, I wonder what is up or down the stairs donna

i didn't change it. i prefer the dark edges since it draws the eye to the "pathetic pumpkin." this image was taken in hammond castle along the coast of massachusetts. i took the image w the rug just hanging in the stairwell. i dropped in the manipulated pumpkin and thought it improved the composition. thanks, meg! enjoy your new "toy." shu

What a wonderful, imaginative story! I want to know more. The lighting is terrific. It looks like the edges are softened...don't know if you changed the original, but I love this, and the title is a hoot! ~Meg

The Umbers and Ochers are so warm and enticing that it's a jolt to see the knife in the pumpkin. It makes you wonder what else the knife was used for. Good thing it's the pumpkin and not a body. I don't think you should soften the edges of the image. It would take away from the quality of light in the center. If anything, you could darken the outer edge. Actually I like it just the way it is. So there you go, two differing opinions on a very wonderful submission.--skunk

Strange and wonderful! It is sort of like an Agatha Christie story; I really want to go upstairs and find out why that poor pumpkin was slain! The lighting is superb; keeps you within the picture.
Perhaps a softening of the image edges would contribute to the mysterious quality?
