Last Ferry of the Day

The ferry and the pier at sunset. I tried giving a slight shadow behind the ferry and used pillow emboss on the posts of the pier and the ferry, setting the highlights to a color that matched the sunset glow, to add some depth to the image. The ferry was darkened by creating two duplicates set to multiply and then hiding the original layer.

You have a good point, Veronica. I will explore the options for cropping. Thanks.

I feel like calling out, "Bon voyage...". Lovely. But my feeling about the composition is troubled. I'm not so certain the horizon is in it's most advantageous place. Just an opinion.

I do love ferry boats - and this sunset is lovely - we have one here that runs from our side of the river to the French Quarter - the residents would kill to protect it!!
You showed here why people love their boats.

So poetic! A really nice idea and a beautiful palette.
(I'm glad our ferries actually run later than that, though some ferries from the San Juan Islands don't have really late runs.) This image does serve to remind me that living in one of earth's most beautiful places is worth the inconveniences.
