Her History

I wanted to do something outside my usual story telling lightweaving; Deciding to create something like a pencil drawing, I experimented with filters in Foto-Sketcher
( http://www.snapfiles.com/get/fotosketcher.html ) and with Photoshop blendings.
For the background I color-matched Texture 9.
Layer 1 was a colored pencil Foto sketch blended with Linear Burn.
Layer 2 was a black and white Foto sketch blended with Hard light.
The edge treatment was made by having a selection of the very edge of the drawing and the background color of our galleries, using a small brush stroke filter.
The font is Monotype Corsiva

She has very sad eyes -as if she has seen much sorrow in her life.

Such recognition of the beauty of an aged person, all of life's joys and sorrows clearly etched for all to see. I love this Alma, Robin

Oh so nice. This woman's face posessed so much.. character...you treated it well. Instead of just being aged, she looks wizened.

Those rectangles were a bleed-through from the background because of the blend I used--After contemplation, I decided to leave them there as a point of curiosity for the viewer, and because they draw attention to the expressive eyes, isolating them somewhat from the aged face/wrinkles--The image seemed more interesting to me if it contained a mystery area.

Two light rectangles appear on my screen - one vertically over one eye, and one horizontally over both eyes. Was that intentional? Aside from that, I think this is a very nice treatment. Where the rectangles are there are no wrinkles. I want some of that rectangular light for myself! : )
