We lived here until I was about 13 then moved into a large house in Glen Ridge. My father was a high shcool science/biology/math teacher in Newark. The house is 5 rooms - 2 bedroom, 1 bath, and pretty big yard. My father had fruit trees in the yard and grapes,blackberries and raspberries on the terrace that was between each house. It was on a steep hill. (He made wine with the fruit but I don't ever remember seeing anyone drink it! Hmmmm??
Also had a darkroom in the basement. Anyway, I was an only child with a very germ paranoid mother, polio and all that, so I was, unfortunately, kind of isolated from the masses, but was in public school and all. We walked to school back then - even home for lunch and back.
