In the early months of summer many parrots bring their chicks from the nest to our backyard for flight training and feeding sessions. The chicks squark loudly as they perch in our trees waiting to be fed. At this young age they are clumsy too and when landing on the ground for the first few times skid along the grass beak first, it's comical to watch.
These two galah chicks have mastered ground landings and are equally happy perched in the low branches.
