July 03 - Ancient Crickley

The rain has now settled into a persistent drizzle and is set to last for a few days.
Had considered trying to do something in the dry today but opted for the fresh air of the hills instead.
I ended-up at Crickley Hill which is the site of ancient settlements right through to Roman times.

Your view could have looked something like this if you lived in a Neolithic village in roughly 3500BC before the days of colour.
The houses and farms may have looked a little different and I bet you would have been looking forward to the invention of the pac-a-mac.

drenched in atmosphere...alas a familiar weather pattern to here on the 'wet' coast...luckily that seems about to change here...hopefully over your way too..

Gee. You must certainly be getting sick of the drizzle. I think this pic must be capturing yours and everyone else's prevailing mood. Depression?

You probably would have been looking over the tops of trees as far as you could see and watching out for wolves !
I really like that you took this shot in inclement weather, it's still a marvelous country scene. The old tree adds a lot of character.

Good composition. And who needs sun ? :)

Captured the essence of this miserable day, would love to see a colour version on a fine day.

That bush certainly looks a bit ancient! Perfectly captures the gloomy mood :o)
