I had the unexpected chance to see the sound-check the night before the EMA! And was so lucky to arrive before the street was closed. I saw them arrive and had a quick chat with Perry (nice and gentle as usual!). When they started playing, a nice guy,who worked there let me enter in "red zone" and see this kind of a "private show" right in the bottom of the stage.I was so excited! Danced and sang like I was in Heaven.It was a WONDERFUL experience!Of course,I'll remember these moments more than the gig itself. They were great,but it was hard to survive among hundred-thousands of people with no way out. Most of them didn't even know who was playing (really sorry for them),without speaking about the MTV style... I was half way and couln't see almost anything, but I could clearly hear the echo of part of the audience in front of the stage singing during the whole performance...and this raised my spirits!
Just wanted to thank THE CURE for coming back to Rome. Hope to see them again on tour soon :-)

Yes, it aired right before the program started. At the very end of the countdown for the EMA. I was doing something in the kitchen & the minute the announcers said "a performance from a LEGENDARY band, I knew it was going to be them! So, I ran out into the living room . . . I miss them so much.

It aired an hour before the actual show. I'm sure MTV2 will be repeating it soon.

Perhaps I completely missed it, but I didn't see a pre-show when they aired the Europe music awards here in the US last night. I'm glad they played, because I was thinking what rubish to have to travel all the way to rome just to introduce Gwen Stefani. Course, they should have had the Cure play during the show it's self.
