Orvieto is special in a few ways. First, it is suspected to be an Etruscan metropolis, if not the Etruscan capital. Second, it was the escape city for the Pope when Rome and/or The Vatican was under attack (back in the day). Third, they have my second-favorite wine there, Orvieto Classico! It's a white wine best served young and chilled. Yum.
