The shapening has given this a nice hand drawn feel. You might want to go with that and try some of the various other filters in the sketch/brush stroke/artistic sets. Play around and have fun. I don't do a lot of photoshop work, but I do like to play around. I will apply various filters and adjust sharpness and/or levels in between. If you don't like something there is always "UNDO". Adding some grain to a black and white shot is always nice too.
