Took the telescope out to see Saturn tonight and last night.
The image wasn't very large or colorful with the eyepiece I was using, but there's just
nothing like your first "real" look at a planet, especially a beauty like Saturn.
Hard to describe the feeling of seeing something that is so familiar from pictures, yet so alien --
it's not this perfectly toned glossy photo with the rings arrayed perfectly horizontal, but a
tilting, living body that visibly moves out of the frame of the eyepiece every minute or so.
I need more practice before I'll be able to take decent pictures of anything through the telescope;
I was more interested in viewing than taking pictures last night, anyway.
Shot in the 717's "Nightshot" mode.
