Straight out my back window, is my Memory Garden, for pets I've lost.
It's not a real "pet cemetery," though I have buried one or two special angelfish here over the years.
Mostly it's an island of flowers, including bloody cranesbill and some wildflowers, with irises that come up in the spring.
There's also a big rock, and at one point there was a Japanese maple (oridono nishiki) that I have a
replacement for but haven't gotten planted yet.
Just a little island of beauty and reflection, and memory.
I lost a baby smoky veil today that I'd been kind of keeping an eye on - a surprise that wasn't really a surprise.
Started the day at the vet with Zuki, so sort of a pet day I guess.
Thunderstorms moving through tonight; caught a smudge of lightning.
Not a great picture, took it through the glass. It'll do.
