The following 4 subspecies are being recognized:
Alaemon alaudipes boavistae - Cape Verde Islands;
Alaemon alaudipes alaudipes - North-Africa from South-Morocco and Mauritania to the Sinai;
Alaemon alaudipes desertorum - Northeast-Sudan to North-Somalia, Central-Saudi Arabia to South-Yemen;
Alaemon alaudipes doriae - East-Arabia to Iraq, Iran and Northwest-India.
