Lagonosticta senegala senegala - Cape Verde Islands, Senegal and Mali to Nigeria;
Lagonosticta senegala rhodopsis - East-Mali to Sudan and lowlands of West-Eritrea and Ethiopia;
Lagonosticta senegala brunneiceps - Highlands of Ethiopia, Eritrea and Southeast-Sudan;
Lagonosticta senegala somaliensis - Southeast-Ethiopia and Somalia;
Lagonosticta senegala ruberrima - Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Northeast-Zambia, Congo and Northeast-Angola;
Lagonosticta senegala rendalli - South-Angola to South-Tanzania, Natal and Northcentral-Cape Province.
