Due to all kinds of reasons it never came to a holiday-break during 2006. On the last day of the year
we went to Schiphol Airport at 4.00 A.M., just to see if it was possible to get a flight to the sun somewhere.
The only possibility was a flight to Lanzarote at the Canary Islands, with 1 retour and 1 one-way ticket.
We decided to take the opportunity and we would just see how one of us (the one with the one-way-ticket)
would get back to Holland at the end of the holiday. It worked out just fine: we had memorable new years eve,
a wonderfull holiday and even a flight back home together!
We stayed on The Canaries from December 31th, 2006 until January 7th, 2007.

From February 28 until March 8 2012 we spend an other holiday at The Canary Islands, Spain. Tenerife this time.
Nothing organized - besides a plain ticket (this time we did...) - and just see where we going to.
It turned out just fine and besides a relaxing holiday, we also enjoyed the local nature.
We were able to find all the ornithological specialities and photograph many of them aswell.
Besides birds, we also saw some dolphins, hundreds of lizards, a few butterflies and dragonflies
and many extraordinary plants we didn't see before.
