This doe came to watch ua watching the sunset on Aug. 13, 2008. Geographically, it was on Middlebury College land, not far from busy Route 125. It's not only common to see deer in Vermont, especially at dusk, it's a common experience to hit one on the highway. Current law says you get the meat, but call the game warden, who will know someone who butchers deer commercially. When we drive at night, the person not driving keeps watch for critters, and anything unusual brings a warn "Eyes!" A warning: if it's a moose, you may see only legs, and if you don't stop in time, you could have a ton of moosemeat sharing your front seat. Take moose crossing warnings seriously, they don't care about cars and are big enough so a collision could be fatal for you, too,
