During the winter of 2006 Toronto kids photographer Ian Taylor returned to
Cambodia, his home for six years during the 1990s.
This series documents small town kick-boxing matches in the provinces of
Battambang and Banteay Meanchey in Northwest Cambodia. Young boxers go toe
to toe in a ferocious medieval ritual, where winners get a couple of dollars
and a way out of dead-end village life.
