Fortunately chef-extraordinaire, Damon Brunette volunteered to send me his photos of some of the highlights of this favorite walk location, since I was unable to participate. The walk leader was Don Shernoff. Among the fungi discovered fruiting were Stropharia rugosoannulata, Agrocybe dura, Schizophyllum comune, Fomes fomentarius, and . But the big buzz from those who were there was all about the huge Laetiporus sulphureus that George brought along to give out to those who wanted a piece to take home and cook up! I think everyone there managed to get a large chuck. And from the excited murmurrings, there were some delicious 'dishes' consumed that weekend.
