We travelled by boat to La Digue. It takes about 45 minutes from Praslin.
We had arranged through the Coco De Mer to hire 2 mountain bikes to get round the island.
When we got off the boat we were given 2 bikes for the day. All the bikes have baskets on the back so you don't have to carry rucksacks and drinks. As we haven't ridden for a few years it was nice to get on a bike again. The saddles were very hard though. There are not many vehicles on the island so riding the bikes was very pleasureable. We got a guide map of the island and started our travels. We went south and stopped of at the vanilla plantation. If you keep on through the other side you come to Source D'Argent beach. This is the most stunning beach we have ever been on. After a an hour we got back on the bikes and made our way to Grand Anse beach which is on the south of the island. Most of the Island is flat, until you get about a mile from the beach. It is ok going down. But climbing back up is a struggle.
