This is our recent trip to the Seychelles. It is a stunning place.
We stayed at the Coco De Mer Hotel in Praslin. We booked the holiday through David http://www.mymapofseychelles.com (Thanks David, exeptional and friendly service.) He and his wife Marsha are travel organisers from Yorkshire in the UK
As we were not sure what excursions we wanted to do, he recommended http://www.selectseychelles.com They are tour operators based in Victoria, Mahe.
We flew from Heathrow Airport UK. It took about 10 hours to get there.
We were met at the airport by John, a select-seychelles guide who drove us to Victoria Docks in Mahe.
We had about an hour to spare before the boat came so we went for a walk around Victoria before boarding the boat for an hour trip to Praslin.
We were met at the Praslin Docks by Josepa & Herve(select-seychelles tour guides). They took us to the Coco De Mer Hotel. It took about 20 minutes.
We arranged to meet the next day to discuss excursions.
All the staff at the hotel were very friendly.They mostly speak French but can understand English quite well. Our room was very clean. The evening meals are buffet style. They were very nice too.
The beach was nice but there was quite a lot of seaweed.
We met Josephina the next morning and booked to go to La Digue and Cousin Island. We hired a car from the hotel for 3 days to see the rest of the Island.
Driving was ok as you drive on the right, the same as the UK. You have to be very careful when driving as the roads are quite narrow with gulleys and sheer drops to the side.
Parts of the island are very steep so you will use 1st and 2nd gear a lot.
The weather was hot most of the time. We had a few welcome heavy showers now and then.
