I'm enjoying this 55-300VR lens. It's missing a couple of bells and whistles that the 70-300VR has, but I can live without them. The 55-300 is lighter, allows you to get closer and is wider, of course. The 70-300 may focus a bit faster (both lenses have their own motors), but the 55-300 is quick enough to focus on most moving objects.
