My daughter and I took our tandem for an overnight stay at San Clemente (CA) State Beach. We pulled a trailer full of the comforts of home. The trip 30 miles each way.

There's plenty of camping space and if you hike or bring a bike, no reservations are necessary. The beach is nearby, the facilities are great and the weather is often great, as it was for us.
