25 May

Johnson City, NY

THis hollow log sits by the entrance to the Finch Hollow Nature Center. I went to get try and get bird shots, but that didn't work out, so, this is my PaD. Not sure what's going here, since the wood looks untouched on the outside.

I've seen logs like this in the woods near where I live. I think it is rotting from the inside. Water gets in and rots out the soft wood. Where the points are is where branches were. The wood there is tougher. This is a neat picture.

It is a very nice shot. Its amazing how nature can capture wood.

all that is left is bark and knots!

I wonder if nature did it or if it was someone that had lots of time on their hands... I'm betting on nature of some sort.... Nice capture..!
