BN-south-nr-Scarface_98.jpg

Location was not written down but it appears to be the grade crossing for Lava Beds National Monument Road. The prominent bluff in the background appears to match 'The Peninsula' (aka 'Castle Rock') which is next to the Tulelake War Interment Center from WWII era. The townsite of Newell is now at that site and the bluff is now called Petroglyph Point as part of the Lava Beds National Monument. The RR location would be between the sidings of Mammoth and Tionesta. Written permission is required to reproduce any material contained in this website.
