My Dad prefers to spend Christmas alone, so my brother and I visited him today, but we took him to The London Wetlands Centre for a lunch and a view from the hides. The twitchers were quite excited to get a good view of a bittern – not that common a bird at all, and one that is often well camouflaged against the reeds. I did get a picture of him, but it wasn’t that good.
