i think the orange coloring signifies completion of the hajj pilgrimage to mecca (I believe a lot of pakistanis dye their beards after the hajj), it's hina.

Another great capture!!

BTW seriously speaking, that color on the beard is most probably "Hina" (wrongly spelled as "Henna" everywhere for some reason, even in Encarta's dictionary).

From Encarta's Dictionary:

1. plants shrub: a shrub of the loosestrife family that grows in Asia and North Africa and has fragrant white or reddish flowers and leaves that are used to make a dye.
Latin name: Lawsonia inermis
2. manufacturing red dye: a strong red dyestuff made from the leaves of the henna plant, used primarily as a hair dye.
Henna is also used to stain the skin or nails, in cosmetics, and in coloring fabric.
3. colors reddish-brown color: a rich reddish-brown color

[Early 17th century. From Arabic ḥinnā’.]

From the thumbnail I thought he had been attacked by a squirrel...How can you find all the most amazing and extravagant scenes to capture, Ray?

Wondered what he and a few others were looking at, while the rest were at the opposite direction... For sure, I couldn't stop looking at his beard :-)
