Landing

London-Heathrow

Went up to Heathrow Airport today. It was my interest in aircraft that got me going in photography in the first place and I’ve been up to this place many times in my life with various film cameras. A small selection of my aviation photos I’ve posted to a web site HERE.

Today, I took some slides and some digital, and yes, I still use Kodachrome!

Here is a bmi British Midland Airbus just seconds before touchdown.

A beauty, Ray - really nice.

Very cool shot Ray. Nice old shots on the other site as well. Funny, I wonder how many people started at airports with their cameras. A whole generation of people will fail to be awed by airtravel like we were a skids. A real shame

Awesome. The wings being clipped make it look bigger (if possible)than what it must have been from your angle.

Flying into the sun..hoping when I opened the thumbnail you were telling us you were coming for a visit to the U.S.

Impressive aviator gallery too.

Another question Ray, do you get any trouble from security for taking pictures of aircraft, and where do you park?

I (we) went to the US in one of those last year - maybe that one? Cool shot Ray - but when you go to the airport do you not wish you were going someplace?? The other thing I do now we live under an air lane is wonder where the plane above my head is going a and who is on it?? Maybe even a PaD'r? BTW they are at 35,000ft + so only see them when clear and rarely hear them.
