October 5 2003: The Tourist Shot

Nyhavn, Copenhagen

This is Nyhaven which will be familiar to anyone who has been to this beautiful maritime city. The classic Scandinavian appearance featuring such vibrant colour makes it an ideal subject for a photo and of course for so many postcards. This time of year, the city is not full of tourists but can still boast lovely clear, crisp, if slightly chilly days.

I was a bit hesitant about putting this up as its the No.1 postcard shot (especially as the Little Mermaid has currently gone 'missing'), but then, Copenhagen is not on the same tourist trail as Rome, Paris, London etc., so maybe it will be a new view for many. Go there if you ever get the chance-it was my last EU country to visit so its taken me all these years for a flight of less than two hours:-) ~~~Ray.
