27 Muslim soldiers from World War I are remembered in Woking's Peace Garden, which was opened in November 2015. The garden was originally a cemetery for these souls but they were re-interned at nearby Brookwood Cemetery in the 1960s. In the intervening years the ground fell into decay but has now been transformed.
