My Proudest Images

After years of making pictures, I find that I am fortunate if I create one or two images per year that fulfill my expectations of what I hoped the image could be when I released the shutter. This is that collection.

We should have this kind of a mindset when we shoot. I'm glad that you opened this gallery in Pbase. I think we all should follow suit and think along these lines. It is also a testament to your confidence in this field. Bringing out your best for all to see... and judge... whoa! Not quite an easy thing to do... to think :)

Thank you, Chuck. These images are wonderful. I love them all. However, several are exquisite. The bicycle, the window, and the table with the green wall are my favorites.

Chuck, since I've known you in Pbase (and then subsequently in person) you've always struck me as someone who holds impossibly high standards when it comes to photography. The difference between you and others though is that you do actually go and reach those standards (before resetting them and making them even impossibly higher once more).

This gallery is proof of both of these things - those standards which have allowed you to pull just eight images from what was one of the premier collections on Pbase (before you locked it) - and it's also proof of the heights you achieve in image making through your thinking, eye, execution and processing.

For those two reasons, I am sure that everyone who visits will be both inspired and intimidated at the same time.

Thank you for constantly raising the bar and never allowing me to settle.

Funny... these are among my favorites photos I've seen here or on any site.. especially the dog (he speaks to me - and the chair..lol).. the diving board one which I noticed before I even knew who you were .. and the salt and pepper shakers.
When I see your work I feel humbled and then I wonder if a person who can shoot like this has no interest in exhibits or selling his work, then what am I thinking?
