Wow! I nearly missed this. I love how the leaf is clear dead and devoid of life yet almost ironically, perhaps due to the shallow dof, that crack in the ground almost looks alive. As if the viewer is seeing the crack just as it's starting to fracture its way off the page. I thought they were complimentary at first but now i think it's actually an interesting, and v unexpected contrast. Anyway, the real beauty here is actually in the subject itself and your excellent capture of it. How good is that blue

Frankly I'd never seen a leaf being treated this way before. Its decaying form goes well with the infinite crack. Excellent in many ways - perspective, light, tone, texture, dof, etc. It's dark. It's mesmerizing. It's definitely vote worthy.

Stunning shot Chuck. I like the light play, which seems telling a story of the leaf on the ground, the texture helps as well. And the square crop is a charm here. V
