This gallery shows some experiments on alternative uses of pictures. It is still in a very random and initial stage and includes a very limited numbers of shots. One of my initial idea was to print some of my pictures from Africa on canvas, take them back to Africa and have them somehow "treated" by the depicted beasts. I spent a few evenings trying to position those canvas in strategic crossing points of wandering elephants or lions but, despite all my efforts, they managed to leave them wholly untouched. I back-tracked then to the evidently simpler plan of shooting those same printed canvas where I had originally shot them. The picture taken at Baines Baobabs in Botswana is a proxy of my idea. An older and different idea was to use the prints of my pictures as the basis for "primitive-like" paintings (which is by the way all what my very limited painting capabilities allow for...). This, I got entirely from Peter Beard's master work, although the paintings on the pictures are actually mine and not Karen Blixen's former cook. Also, I have always been interested in San paintings and carvings in southern Africa and their amazing capability in capturing the "Soul" of the animals in just a few lines. So, I tried to reproduce the effect of rock carvings on some of my pictures, as depicted in the Rino carving example.

The pictures retouched with drawings are for sale, subject to availability, and can be printed on photo paper or canvas in sizes up to 2m width.
