42. Pride of Baltimore II (USA - 1812/1988, 157'), 50. Elissa (USA - 1877, 205')
Pride of Baltimore II was designed as a replica of privateers that fought in the War of 1812. Note: it flies a flag with 15 stars AND 15 stripes (in use from 1795, after Vermont and Kentucky joined the Union, until 1818, when the number of stripes was fixed at 13). Sometimes called the Star-Spangled Banner flag, because a 15-star/15-stripe flag inspired Francis Scott Key's verses. The flag has eight stripes next to the blue field and seven stripes below, while the modern flar has seven stripes by the field and six below.
