Living in the SF Bay Area, you get the impression these are elusive, hard-to-find birds. But this one was a few feet away, singing and doing its thing, at the outlet of the lower Grassi Lakes lake. It seemed very acclimated to people, which is just as well since there were a lot of people visiting Grassi Lakes this day in spite of the bad weather. Or was it because of the bad weather - at least, that's why we chose this hike. It's a nice short one for rainy days.
