Phainopepla (aka Black Cardinal)

This is the closest I have ever been to a Phainopepla without it flying away as soon as I point my camera.
I drove to my side yard where the watering hole is, in my new golf cart which makes a wonderful
blind, and I waited. My wait really paid off.

Some nice captures, Carol. Sabino Canyon is a great place to get really close to these in case you ever want to try for some more.
