Western Patch-Nosed Snake

Texas Canyon, Dragoon, Arizona

The short road to work is 1.1 miles; the long road is 1.5 miles. I generally walk the short road in
the morning and walk the long road home in the late afternoon.

Besides the absolutely beautiful surroundings and the terrific exercise, walking gives me many more
opportunities to see the local wildlife!

This is one of them, whom I saw on my walk home from work. I had to walk around him as he was sunning
himself right across the road.

They're pretty stiff until they get warmed up. Which is great for getting pictures of them. What a wonderful "commute" you have!

A very nice series, Carol. This appears to be rather long. I don't like snakes but I do like to photograph them.

Fabulous shots, I love the details in his head. But that's wildlife I can
do without when I go for a walk. V

Very cool capture with all these details on the close up and interesting to see how long this snake is on the other two. Great documentation Carol. "V"
