This was a wonderful place to visit, the Arms collection and the way they were arranged was unbelievable. It is so amazing to see all the history that has been preserved.

The whitewashed Castle with turrets, has been around since 1269. It is the seat of the Atholl Dukedom, The Duke is the only British subject allowed to maintain his own force.

The Piper is one of the Atholl Highlanders, a select group retained by the Duke as his private army, a privilege afforded to him by Queen Victoria in 1844

This was a very nice surprise in our travels, the room had a wonderful view of Loch Earn, the food was food, excuse me I mean "cuisine" was some of the best on our trip, and the service was top notch. We would have liked to have stayed here several more days just to relax and be pampered.
