One glorious day
God plucked me from a row
of waiting wallflowers
and invited me to dance.

Around and around
He swept me, lifting me
to exhilarating heights,
challenging me to new leaps,
catching me as I fell.

And when, in the wild abandon
of some uncharted plunge,
I tried to dance alone,
He bent with infinite grace
and gathered up the pieces.

When the music stops
I pray I will remember only
the joy of the dance.
