This was a meeting at the barn of my great grandfather, James "Jim" Johnston. Never let it be said that our Johnstons were ones to sit back and do nothing when something needed to be done. Here neighbors gathered to determine what to do about a political issue.
Take a look at those fur coats that many of the men were wearing!!! They knew how to keep warm :-) outside in winter that is...lol...
Notice the large pot hanging to the right and block and tackle beside it. These were used for slaughtering swine and rendering lard.
