Damselfly Emerging from Nymph

This sequence of shots were taken to show the emergence of a damselfly from the larval form (nymph). The first shot in the sequence was taken at 13:02:47 and the last at 13:15:09. The nymph crawls up from the water (where it spends most of it's life) onto some vegetation and about 20 - 30 minutes later the adult form emerges.

These are taken with a Canon 300D, Canon 100mm f2.8 UM Macro lens and Canon MT-24EX flash unit. They are uncropped frames which have had contrast and saturation adjusted, resized and then sharpened in Photoshop Elements 3.
