6 August 2006 Posting...As mentioned yesterday, I shot about 500 shots of lighthouses while on a boat cruise of the lighthouses of Eastern Long Island Sound.... I want to really spend some time going through these shots and so I've decided unless something presents itself as an aspiring PAD for the day I'm going to spend more time figuring out what I like/dislike about the shots I took on the cruise - figure it will be more productive than just shooting a pad to get a current shot.
This shot has been cropped as there was too much ocean - not much of a choice of interesting foreground on the boat so I had a choice of too much sky or too much water and then crop. I really liked how the sunlight had peaked from a batch of clouds behind and to the right of us and lit up the lighthouse. It only lasted for a bit before it moved on but I caught it as the light moved across. Something I don't like about the shots I took are the ickies using the 100-400 and swapping lenses invariably introduces and have to be patched out... oh and incidently trying to stand on a boat that is rocking and take a shot is also an interesting challenge I hadn't thought about until faced with it...
