Photo a Day, Day 224...Thanks to everyone who left comments on Jonathan's photos - he was THRILLED!
Cold, wet and windy today and I really didn't want to go out in it... this evening I decided I didn't like the chill in the house so started up a fire in the woodstove. Also made for fun experimenting with light. The room was pretty much dark for this - there is some light from the right coming from the kitchen. I waited for about half the shutter time and then opened the flew so the flames would flare - having them going the entire time made them way overexposed for the exposure I wanted on everything else... having the kitchen light off made for a boring even lighting. Used a tripod, mirror lockup and a shutter release cable...
