Photo a Day, Day 203...I read on someones gallery (sorry can't remember whose I was viewing at the time) that to get the star/ray effect on the sun, use a small apperature... noticed the sun just peaking through the trees this morning while getting my son ready for school and decided to run outside with the tripod and try it out...

0.80s f/22.0 at 24.0mm iso100 full exif

yup . .it gives a nice star effeect and no silly filter to carry . . .but ya gotta hold reaaaaaal still especially at night . .that's when I like doing it the most . . like getting that effect on street lights =)
