Smile

While working in the garden yesterday I only had my old 300D with me. This young man has become
quite friendly and patiently waited while I filled the feeder and even let me take his picture.
I do believe he is kind of smiling, usually you say "Cheese" for the camera...in this case I think he said, "Seed".:o)
Basically straight out of the camera with a slight crop.

other sizes: small medium original auto

I don't use my feeder as I have a cat who would take
advantage of it. We have these red-winged blackbirds
nesting by the pond but
I don't usually see them this well.
I'll have to pay more attention this summer.

Carol,
I did not notice the smile on his face at the small thumbnail. When looking in detail, I believe that you make him smile for this image. Nice job. Vote.

I think I can almost see you reflected in the eye! Impressive.

Good shot, Carol. This are very smart birds, and I've found them very difficult subjects. You did very well with this one.

Well, aren't you lucky to have him pose for you as your model? That is quite a privilege to have bestowed upon you. You must be living right and have earned up some good Karma. :) Nice shot too.

Fantastic shot, Carol! Great details and light! Redwings are usually hard to catch! But not so with 'Mother Earth' :) All the critters love you! V~

He may be saying "seed" but it's the eye
that holds my attention. Wonderful detail.
I am jealous that even your red-winged blackbirds
are so friendly. Must be something in that seed. ;)

That's a very nice shot Carol, I like the dark bird against the light background.. it really works well. Please forgive me, but I have no idea what the bird is though.
