Thanks John, my guess is a Cooper's Hawk, a rough guestimate it was around 1 1/2 ft. in length. A very healthy looking bird...what a beauty it was!

Good spotting, Carol - that's a handsome looking bird. I especially like the delicate pinkish-orange wash on its upper breast/neck. What do you think - a Sharp-shinned, or is it much bigger? John
