Getting Comfy (rescue getting closer)

We are getting more comfy with each other. It didn't budge an inch
while I worked under the tree, preparing the grounds for winter.

Some shots after her rescue and partial amputation of a foot.

Hi Carol - how is the dove? Do you still have her?

That's such great news! What a lucky
lady! Both you and the Pretty Baby! Hope
she's doing beautifully!

Many thanks to everyone!!! Update... I rescued her today finally, on one storm & cold Wed. Nov.9th! She's resting comfortably, warm and safe. Have her in a hospital cage enviornment for viewing her general health over the coming days. She looks healthy so far other than a little bedraggled from her adventures in nature.:-) Lost tail feathers should grow back...thank goodness for those 'release' feathers!

Beautiful shot!

That is a fine photo, Carol - beautifully framed by the branches and accentuated by the dappled light. A Ringed Turtle-Dove - I wonder if it's escaped from somewhere very close by. Poor thing - surprised the local hawks and owls haven't found it yet. John

Thanks girls...this is the Ringneck Dove that I'm still trying to
rescue.sigh Linda, a guess is that it is a female, in the time
it's been here I haven't heard any cooing sounds of any sort...but
otherwise I'm not sure. The beak is long and slender but because
it's all puffed up it perhaps looks a bit exaggerated?lol It's
getting more & more secure with me, just keep your fingers crossed.

Carol, this is a first class shot - that eye is sooo nicely in focus :-) This has got to be a female surely, just has that look about her lol. Lovely background to go with her gorgeous coloured plumage. That beak is quite a surprise to me too, its quite long and slender for a pigeon dont you think?

What a nice soft touch. Beautiful shot of it.
