Great Blue Heron

We went to a neighborhood lake. I was shooting an egret. All of a sudden I turned around and a turkey vulture was coming in for a landing. I looked past the turkey vulture and there was this guy (gal?) taking it all in. He/she posed nicely for me. If you have any tips on telling a she from a he (Great Blue Heron), please let me know.

He got tired of posing and off he went.

It's a proud one & looks wonderful. Can't help with the ID though, Cindy.

Both photos are great, but the one of him(?) flying is special, seeing him from above like that.
