After fixing a quick pot of coffee and grabbing some breakfast bread, we headed out to the loop to get in line for the opening at sunup. Even though we got there about 45 minutes before sunrise, the line was really backing up. We pulled up in line and waited for it to open, trying to keep warm. Finally the ranger opened the gate and we were off to one of our favorite spots for early morning shots. It took a while, but once we got there, the fog was slowly lifting from the trees.
