I was born here on August 31, 1971, to Gary & Stella Forrer my Godparents were Wolfgang who I was told was a musician and his daughter Claudia haven't heard from them in 35 years.

I was with the 63rd Med. Detachment (Medic) in '71-'72. Fell in love with Landstuhl. And riding a chopper all over Europe wasn't a bad deal either!

I was stationed at Landstuhl Medical Center from 55"' to 57" in an ambulance company. The Polish troops were replaced shortly after I arrived in 55". Not a popular place to be stationed. Great number of troops in this general area. It is a pretty area but I was always glad to visit the larger cities of Germany. I did get to spend three days in Berlin. This was before the wall. I remember all the taxis, in Landstuhl, were Mercedes Benz.

I graduated from KAHS in '65, volunteered as part of my school work in the X-ray lab processing film at 2nd General so I went down the hill quite a bit on my bike - was immortal then. Town and the surrounding area were about the best place I've ever lived - we'd eat lunch at the 'castle' ruins on the way down the hill - did they ever develop those ruins? Back then there were Polish labor troops stationed at Pulaski Barracks that also did some work at Landstuhl and sometimes we'd leave with them and we'd eat freshly-made sausage and drink bootleg Slivovitz at their canteen. Old days are gone but the 'Stuhl' raemins, thank God.

I used to ride my bicycle down from above Bann, a military communicatons-site, past the Landshul castle onto Ramstein AFB. June '71 to Feb. '75. The steep decline,caused bulbs to blow in my generator-driven headlight. Made lots of friends in the little village of Bann, Cage Rutz and Synder's, a busy resturant. Halloween nights glowed candles against black tombstones, peppering the lonely hillside cemetary. Fun times, mit senf und wurst, smackt gut.

Very nice. I passed by Landstuhl, visiting friends in Wurzburg Heidelberg, Wilhelmsfeld, and Straubing and I could not get enough of the German countrysides.
