The Audience Transitioned themselves to 300BC Athens

...the truth is that it is still hot, hot summer here in SoCal...very little is on seasonal transition...and I've been looking hard.

but my real disappointment this Challenge has been my inability to find a tea kettle to photograph steam, water going from solid to vapor...now there's a transition! But no one has a standard tea kettle any longer...I've had a half a dozen I think...but I can't find a one, likewise none of my neighbors, nor my tenats have a regular tea kettle...such a surprise to me.

For those who did not receive it, Dave's email established the next challenge as Oktoberfest and Halloween. He will get to work on the template in the next couple of days. His job is keeping a tight grip on him during his final months.

Paul, this is the Greek Amphitheater at the Getty Villa in Malibu...this is adjacent to my other Getty image in this Challenge. This was a presentation of Antigone...but this is the second year in a row that their annual Greek Tragedy play....was bad/

Not bad, nothing done with the Getty money is ever truly bad...but it was not great either.

As to regular tea kettles...I have an electric kettle...and I love it, but it turns off automatically...and you can't really force it to stay on. I was going to buy a standard stove top kettle....but for one use? Sure I had the black foam board set up for the background of the shot....but buying for one questionable use seemed....unwise.

Is Dave the next Challenge person in the on deck?

Best Wishes, Traveller

Re tea pot. I don't ever recall us having one in our house over the decades.
Coffee pots, but not the old steaming tea kettle.

What event are you at?

As far as making steam, boil a small amount of water in a small sauce pan. Then I wonder, thinking aloud if you pointed a laser pointer through it while steaming. Paul
