Hard Working Sweat (the dog days)

.
Should I note that I had some substantial trouble renting the Apartment? Turned in with a complaint to the Housing board, one other threatened lawsuit...the apt was too good, the rent too low...and I declined to rent to a lot of people...many very unhappy applicants...but since I charge nada, nothing for credit check, no application fee, no deposits or any other money changing hands...i think I am good...but it has been strange...some stories:

Washing my car late on Saturday...but without a shirt...a woman walks behind the building and when I told her I was busy...She told me to put on a Shirt...lol

Another woman brought her own, (non English speaking) electrician to upgrade my building...astonishing stories from people

Another applicant, a retired doctor, but with a large service dog...or the very nice Hispanic man with daughters 6 and 8...a welder, but obviously not legal here, I am not allowed to ask as to status...but in today's world, what if he is picked up...deported...how do I legally serve a 3 day Notice...but on who, and what of the remaining young daughters? how do I move them out...very difficult new rules in this world for me. Sigh, sigh.

Ps Let me add that small property renting is much like getting married...everyone really must get along...we are all together all the time...CA law seems to recognize this, but only a little.

Thank you very much...from your description I can think of a really necessary use already! But I am off to Mt Wilson to see the Meteor Shower, so I am gone. Best Wishes, Traveller

Home Depot, Lowe’s and Menards all sell denatured alcohol. I recently bought a gallon of it from Menards. Isopropyl alcohol burns clean too but not like denatured since it has more water in it and it’s a shorter burn time. We used it in the BSA as camp fuel and to burn the boys scarfs (neckerchiefs) in a ceremony when they transitioned from cub scouts to boy scouts. It did not damage the neckerchiefs.

I needed the denatured to help clean the basement floor after removing the self adhesive 12 inch vinyl floor tiles at a remodeling project I’m doing at my daughter’s place. Those are a royal pain in the @ss to remove even using a heat gun and an oscillating multi purpose tool. Paul

Thank you, Paul, I appreciate what you say also, and especially your recommendations...recently, denatured alcohol...I don't know when or where I will find some...but it is in my brain now, so thanks. Best Wishes, Traveller

Remember the old saying “the eyes are the window to the soul”. Shakespeare I think.
Interesting story, one I enjoyed reading, I like your story’s. Paul

Hmm. For much of what you say, I would call my lawyer. :-)
But ....

Anyway, you are partially describing many things and situations on why I have chosen multiple times NOT to be a landlord. Esp a small property landlord. And life has only gotten tougher in the last few years.
